Yeah, that's right Mel. Providing the seat belt goes across their body the way it's suppose to. With Nina, it will as she's tall. And as your kids are tall, I can't see that being a problem with you at all.
We bought a maxirider this time round because with DD1 she was well out of the biggest booster seat on the market by the time she was 4 (eye height). The maxi AHR *is* extendable, just make sure if you are using a regular seat belt that you use the clip that comes with it at the bottom, as it prevents the child from slipping out under the belt (it's called submarining and can cause serious injuires to the chest & throat region). It is worth getting the instruction book out and reading it again to make sure you're still using the seat safely, kwim?
I overheard a staff member at Babybunting telling someone that the maxi is the last seat you need and will take them up to 7 years, maybe i heard wrong?
Yep Loula that should be right - I've just got an Amazon child - she's very tall. They should be in a seatbelt with the anti submarining clip and shoulder strap holder once they hit 18kgs according to the website too.
My MaxiRider isn't the newest model though so will that make a difference?
It shouldn't make a difference. They were all designed to be used as a booster seat until 7-ish. We have two now and have no plans for ever moving up to anything else. DS1 is 5 now but not big for his age so is still fine using it as a car seat rather than a booster. DS2 might be in it as a booster earlier LOL!
My dd is 7 and is still in her maxirider it's one of the first styles and she is 120cm tall and is just about to tall. I wouldn't think at 4 they would be to tall for one with the arh head support.
Mine is the older one too kim - I don't have the AHR head support on mine. Mine is just the normal one. I might just go put DS in there again to see where his head is.. LOL

It would have appeared I got duped.
A couple of years ago when they were bringing out the AHR we went into Babies Galore and asked for one. We paid and picked it up out the back. Then drove the 600kms home (not available where we lived) never once assuming they would have sold us the wrong one....now 2 years later I figure it out we only have the MaxiRider II....grrrr will leave her in there a bit longer but S&S have another booster we might investigate if we need one....
