Bella did a very simular thing at about 9 months till about 11 months - she would have only on day sleep for about and hr and then would be in bed earlier. But not now.. she is now 13 months old and she now has 2 days sleeps of about 2+ hrs but will now go to bed latter at like 8.30 and will generally sleep through - all though with 2 molars coming through right now she is up at least once for a bottle and a snuggle with mummy and then back to bed and will sleep again til 8.00 - 9.00 in the morning.

Sorry that was my long winded way of saying that when I though that Bella was going down to one sleep her whole routin changed and its different now but better.

That really didnt help much huh! Sorry just our experiance!!

who really knows what our babies are thinking lol??
Byron has shortened his day sleeps to about 1 hour each (he has 2) and i can still get him to do 11.5-12 hours overnight (this includes a few wake ups )

I have toyed with the idea of 1 sleep but am worried that he wont resettle after an hour and then i have cranky horrible baby all afternoon who geos to bet at 5pm but then wakes up at 5am!

Is he teething or anything? I do remember DS going through a similar thing around 11 months where he just wouldnt sleep for long during the day. I just let it run its course and he eventually went back to 2 x good sleeps. THis meant sometimes going to bed a little earlier or staying up a little later to accommodate him for a few weeks but it did just sort itself out. Dont know if that was really much help but you can always try 1 sleep and see.....

Maybe try pushing the time he goes down for his nap out a bit? Go 4 hours instead of 3, and see if this helps - maybe he's just not ready for a nap when you're trying it.
I do remember, as some other have said, that DD seemed to drop to one nap at 11months, but then around 13months, went back to 2 sleeps, although she also went through a stage of getting cold after cold at this point, so I put the extra sleep down to them.

Just when you think you have them figured out, they go do something different! lol!
