Heater guards ansd baby gates??

Not sure what to get/where to get one from:
1. a guard that goes around around a built-in-to-the-wall gas heater. It needs to be sturdy or nailed so that it can't be pulled over. What are they made from so they don't heat up/melt?
2. a baby safety gate for an extrawide doorway. Do I just have to get a 'normal' one and buy a few extensions for it? The opening is about 1.3 metres wide.

Deirdre I can't help with the heater guard sorry. With regards to the gate though if you look at them at the shops it says on the box how wide you can extend a "normal" gate to using extensions. I don't have the box anymore so can't have a look. I do have a feeling though that you will have to buy an actual wider one. Have a little look on ebay as I've seen some really big ones there which I believe you can adjust to all different sizes. HTH.

We got our gate at Babies Galore and if I remember correctly (which I very well may not), it covers up to 143cm. Anyway, it is an extra wide one and I think the brand is BabyDan. It was $150. I think even with extensions, most gates don't cover this much, that's why we had to go a special extra wide one. You can open the whole gate, or just the doorway. I like it. HTH.
