2 years 4 months is what I heard![]()
Has anyone heard that whatever height your child is at 2 years old they will be double that as an adult? I overheard someone talking about it the other day, and from discussing it with friends many people have actually said it was true. My mum didn't keep records of how tall we were as kids, so I don't know if it worked for me.
If it is true, ds will be over 6 foot 2, as he's 3'1 at the moment and still has 5 weeks of growing before his birthday.
Just curious...

Oh dear - my baby's going to be a giant!!
Dee I think I read somewhere that for girls you multiply their height at 2 years by 2 (so double) and boys you multiply by 2.3. So I think your boy will be very tall!
My mum told me this aswell, She said that it was true for me and my 4 brothers.
Yep we learnt this in nursing as part of child development... cant remember if it was exactly 2 yrs though - but it is close to it!
HI my MCHN told me this, however they said back in 1980 that my sisters would be over 6ft tall. they are 5 ft 2, and no crazy growth affecting problems. I think it can only really be a guideline. One thing is highly likely he will be taller than you.
Soem of the girls at my Mummy's group were chatting about this the other day, so I have worked it out for Olivia and Charlie, and written it down (added it to their scrapbooks actually, like a future 'prediction" LOL!)
In theory, Olivia will be a tiny titch of 5'1", and Charlie will be stumpy for a bloke at 5'7"................
I took my son into the RCH in Melbourne for his excema a few years ago, he was around 2 yrs old, they commented about how tall he was, so measured him and said that you double there height at around 2 yrs old, its all rough estimates but usually works out pretty close. My son is going to be around the 6ft 7 mark, help lol !!!!!!!
Matilda was 90cm at 2yrs so double that and she would be 180cm fully grown.
