My DD has been swapping b/w 1 & 2 day sleeps over the past couple of weeks.

Before DLS she was awake from anywhere b/w 6-7 and up until 10 then slept until 11 or 12 then normally went for another nap about 3ish but i found she was harder to get to sleep at night and was waking a few times a night.

The last couple of days i have tried dragging her out til 11, which as it's been 7 til 11 hasn't been to hard, she then sleeps anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, she gets up, has lunch, a couple of snacks in the arvo, then tea and is down for the night.

Maybe if you gradually dragged her out 10min more each day until she had a nap from say 11, i have found if DD has a snack sometimes this helps and she gets her 2nd wind and is easier to get down at 11. Some people change lunch to then and put them down straight after lunch?

Sorry prob haven't helped much, have been struggling with it myself, especially with DLS now.

I cant remember when DS went to 1 sleep - i think it was around 18 months.... (he has been such a bad night sleeper that he needed his sleeps in the day..). what do the carers think? they must see that she is struggling with the 1 sleep...
Maybe they could allow her to have 2 sleeps (even in the baby room) for a little longer, esp as she has been unwell. I know at DS1 creche they have a couple of kids that have done that for a month or so while they transition. or you could get the schedule of what they do and try to follow that at home too - it may take a while but she may adjust ok? i did this when DS1 went to creche (he has been at FDC beforehand and much more free with time etc) and it helped. you may find she needs an earlier bed time perhaps?
I would speak to the room leader and maybe the director to see what they think you should do - maybe when she is settled in the room it will be better - i see most of the kids want to do what tje others are doing...

I think you should def speak to the director and get a GPs letter to back it up. Given DD hasn't been well and sleep is often when they heal, she obviously needs the extra sleep.
My DD is jsut a few weeks younger than your and we have gone back to 2 sleeps. She was only having one from about 8-9 months! I think maybe this age they need more sleep. I know my DD is so much more active now.
I can imagine it being a worry for you esp when DD has been so sick. I hope they can work something out for you. Maybe they can keep her in the younger room for a little while longer?
