Yes its gotta go, its just become a PITA. I am losing count of the times I am replacing it, seems to get worse each night.
At the moment she sleeps next to me so I can easily roll over pop it in and go back to sleep but won't be long til she is in her own cot and I am not getting up and down! Its like every 1.5hrs roughly.
I thought maybe I can persevere til she can start doing it herself but decided no better to get rid of it. But I am scared!
I know there is going to be tears cause she is quite dependant on it. As soon as I put her in her sleeping bag she starts looking for it so going to be a shock to the system when it doesn't appear.
Any words of advice? I figure best to just go cold turkey and hope its alot better after 3 bad days?
shell this is a tough one
does she suck her thumb or fingers?
maybe try resettling her without, ive been told that some settling places encourage you to try and resettle twice without the dummy but after that to pop the dummy in,
If you really want to get rid of it you will have to go cold turkey. This includeds thowing them ALL in the bin so there is no temptation what so ever to get them out and give one to her when its gets tough. She will probably be upset over it for a few days but eventually it wil get better.
Sending you 'be strong' vibes for when you're ready
She does suck her fingers but only in awake time, sleep time she associates the dummy.
We gonna try in next couple weeks while Df is on holidays! I hope I don't chicken out but can't go on the way we are.
Sorry SHell - Don't really have much advice as E has a dummy too! Maybe try cuddling her till she looks sleepy, then put her down, and pat her?
Not sure about during the night though.
