    Question Coping Strategies...

For those of us getting bugger all sleep with our little one's... what are your coping strategies???

I tend not to sleep when she is sleeping during the day because it messes me up, but instead, I just keep sleeping in the morning until I feel OK enough to get up (so, I keep feeding, burping and putting DD1 down for another sleep). Umm does that make sense? I'm not fully with it.

What do you do? Other than imbibe yourself on caffeine?

Yep same PX, if i can and Darcy is happy to watch telly I have a bit of a lay in and a snooze with Nate.
I do sometimes try and sleep during the day if it's a daycare day or DH is home but not too often.
Sadly it is something you just get used to. I know that I can function perfectly well on 2hours sleep a nigth for ages if I have to....

TRY and go to bed earlier that night....like 8pm...doesnt always work out that way.

Do little that day..........i.e little housework gets done, there is no going outta the house....just a hang around the house kinda day (easy to do on school hols...different story when its school day).

Im lucky in that DH works shift work, so is home most days, whilst he has a business at home, he is always there to call on should i need help getting DD#1 to school, make lunch, or wipe bottoms.....

Other than that......postitive thinking....that 'tomorrow will be a better day'.....

IF I can find 5 minutes, a rest on a bed can do wonders! I try to meditate (just deep breathing really at this point as I can't focus, forget what Im doing) while feeding!! And lots and lots of water! Man it's hard being so sleep deprived!!
Also a good cry now and then works wonders!! dxo

Mmmm, I love sleeping during the day .

But on the days that I couldn't for one reason or another, then I found that even just sitting on the couch for a bit of a rest would help. If I could drag myself out of the house for a walk I would feel better. Go to bed earlier. And definitely the same as you, sleep in in the morning until I felt sane enough to get out of bed LOL! I did that for months . No such luck when they get older unfortunately, but you do get more sleep at night!
