How do you handle your toddler when your PMSing

Hi ... im 38 yrs married with a 12 mth old delightful Alistair. (we have 3 other children between us as well) But today im going mad... i must be a tad PMSing as everything is soooo annoying me lol and now i feel extremely lethargic and want to crawl into bed and sleep! Plus Ali must be feeling my mood as he wont sleep and wont settle arghhhh .... So now i have resorted to leave him in the cot with toys ... he so needs to sleep as he has had 1 hours all day. Usually he can have a 2 1/2 hrs in morning and about 1 1/2 hrs in afternoon then bed at 6 / 7 pm.

    Cheers

Good question, I haven't had that prob for awhile as haven't had AF for over a year but prior to that I struggled. More my moods, I would get really impatient and snap over things that I normally wouldn't. Not looking forward to it returning

I sometimes have to count to 10 and breath, I make dd do it with me.. Then I try to see the funny side and try and relax. If Im really bad I put dora on for dd and lay on the couch..

Its always good when dh is home, make him take DD out for a walk, or in to the back yard to play..

On those kind of days I do whatever it takes to make it easier- let DS watch telly as much as he wants (not that he watches it really, but sometimes it distracts him), pull all his toys out and spread them over the floor so he can amuse himself, put him in the cot with toys as you said, give him arrowroot biscuits so he can amuse himself eating them, sleep when he sleeps and let the house go, schlep around in terrible clothes and eat alarming amounts of chocolate!! I'm sure as he gets older, DS will learn to love those days because I let him do all the "naughty" easy things!

    Snap and then apologise.

If I know I'm PMSing even before I start I gave DS a cuddle, told him "Mammy can't be doing with this today, let's have a REALLY FUN day and we do that by not arguing - we'll do XYZ this morning then you pick something." Then I do snap over something, but DS was pretty good with it if I just apologised and made his day fairly fun. Then again, he is used to a grumpy mother.

    God bless the no-period Pill!
