Question How early do you go to bed?

DS has recently changed his sleeping pattern and is going off to sleep for the night at about 7.30-8pm....he wakes about 3-5 times per night - mainly just coz he wants a quick booby but won't resettle without it ....
He's been getting up for the day at about 5ish too...

Prob I have is it doesn't matter how exhausted I am I can't go to bed before 10.30pm - I've tried and I just lie there stressing about not sleeping

Do you go to bed when your little one does to maximise sleep or do you still run on a grown ups body clock?

At the moment I'm not going to bed until about now or a bit later..towards 11pm/midnight... have so many other things to do once she is in bed before I go to sleep, and we still don't really have a night routine... would love to go to bed earlier, but need to have dinner, clean up the kitchen, feed the dog, fold washing, wash bottles etc etc...the list goes on! I don't like being woken up/having disturbed sleep. so I'd much rather stay up for her late evening/early morning feed and go to bed after that when hopefully she sleeps through until 4 or 5 in the morning! One day we will have a better routine...lol

I've gone to bed at 7pm once DS is asleep, DH and I have MANY early nights these days LOL

I dont seem to have much of a body clock any more, I think I have a baby clock hehehehehe

Maybe try some relaxation techniques for adults, a warm relaxing bath, get DH to give you a back rub etc, maybe that will get you to sleep earlier?

I really should go to bed earlier but I just dont do it. I generally get to bed between 10:30 & 12!!! DS goes to sleep at around 6, maybe 6:30 & DD goes to bed at 7:30 so I could put myself to bed at 8:30 if I wanted but I like to relax on the lounge, surfing the net with a cup of tea & some bickies LOL

maybe when DD starts big school next year I might get myself into more of a routine & wake up easier in the mornings

Dee I could have written your exact post. DD is the same and I am like you. Cant go to ed early. I am still up now and its after midnight. I figure its not as bad getting up to feed her when I am already up. There is method to my madness!

I go to bed at 9:30pm. My eyes fall out of my head any later.

DD is off to sleep by 7pm and generally up at 7am (today it was 8am!). I only get up twice, but it still makes me so, so tired by the evening!

I hope you get some more sleep tonight!

Since DS has been sick (and shows no signs of getting rid of this cough) I've been in bed 8pm latest. He goes down at 7pm and is awake before 9pm, and then my night starts, he's in with me, coughing, eating and napping. So I need the extra hour before he wakes......really annoying as I just love my time at night without kids! HAven't stayed up past 8.30pm though since DS was born...

DD goes down at 6:30 and i go to bed 10-11ish. Tho she has a feed at 10-10:30, so if i was to sleep before then, there is no hope in hell, im gonna get back to sleep. I dont mind coz she doesnt wake during the night so i usually get a good 6-8 hours full sleep (its me that keeps waking! lol)

I hate it but have been in bed by 8.30pm most nights - enough time to get a few hours sleep before the party starts here . DH and I were night owls, but after 4 months of little sleep we have retrained! It definitely makes a difference too, for me anyway (I am the one who gets up at night). Otherwise perhaps a day nap when your son does - it is not possible here as DD1 doesn't stop!
I believe the trick to changing sleep routines are to persist and use a wind down routine for yourself too!!!! Good luck - it is hard without sleep!

Or stop looking at the clock - sleep when you are tired and just go with the flow!!

We usually go to bed after 10:30pm. Sometimes we'll watch a movie lying in bed earlier but we don't generally sleep until later on. The boys go to bed at 8pm so I really enjoy having a couple of hours of us time especially after the days that are full of whinging.

Somewhere between 10pm & 11.30pm is the standard here (DD in bed at 6.30pm, DS at 7pm). I have been known to go to bed at 8pm though, just depends on how things are going really.

DS needs an extra cover on him at 10.20pm, else he wakes up just before 10.30 to ask for it. So I don't go to bed before 10 so I tuck him in. Sometimes he wakes up at 10.15 to ask for it, so that's fine, I tuck him in then and he's straight back to sleep.

No point me getting an hour then DS waking me up: I end up more tired.
