    how to help baby poop?

Ds is really irritable and has a pain cry and I think he just needs a poop. Is there anything I can do to help?

Warm bath then a belly massage and pushing his legs up?

That's what I did with A, some people say prune juice but I never did with A cos I though she was a bit little.

I also used to wipe DD bottom (the hole) with a warm wet facewasher & that seemed to help too.

sit him on a potty or hold him in a squatting position with his knees up

tried the potty yesterday, still no poos yet. deep bath this morning and i held him in squatting position and bicycle legs. he fell asleep for awhile, which was good.

i am now pretty sure that he is reacting to dairy in my diet. i eliminated it from my diet earlier and saw no benefit and no real effect when i introduced it again. so i was eating dairy but not alot. the last couple of weeks i have been having cereal with milk in the morning and his rash is back (we had cleared it up with a steroidal cream), and his tummy is yuck. i only just put it all together. think i will try to eliminate it completely again and see how we go.

dd also reacted to dairy for awhile in my diet, and in hers, but is now ok with it.

I was told by baby nurses in hosp 1 teaspoon of brown sugar in 20ml of milk gosh it worked well we used cause ds was getting constipated from formula until we found one that worked for him but prob best to try sugar free options first

still no poop. DS is sucking on some dried nashy.

maybe i should try the sugar? - how does it work? i am wary of doing something (at either end) if it only gets water through and doesn't help where he is blocked up (and not sure what that is). He was feeding overnight, which was good, and has a wet nappy. Had some breast rejection yesterday - also had it a few weeks ago until he pooped.

Perhaps a little watered down prune juice. Our pead recommended it over the sugar.
