Skeeta - I got DS's from eBay and it has worked a treat! Going to get one for DD as well.

I try to leave DS 's on all the time but DH takes it off when he gives J a bath or goes to swimming lessons.

To answer the OP, I will leave it on J until he finishes teething and then probably until it doesn't fit anymore cause it's a cute accessory

Skeetaboat - I got one for DS from amber bebe online. They are made specifically for young babies - have a plastic clasp that will pop open if pulled hard enough (and this has happened once with DS - well it was off and not broken). The beads are individually knotted on so if it does break somewhere along the necklace (not at the clasp) then the beads don't come off. It was about $40 I think but came with a guarantee etc. They also sell breastfeeding necklaces which you could wear. I know people with arthritis etc wear them too.

DS wears his all the time except for in the bath or swimming pool. We've only just started CC and so far they haven't asked him to remove it. We have noticed a big difference from the first tooth (without the necklace) the the next 3 teeth. He still gets unsettled but nowhere near as bad. Breastfeeding and panadol now work and the last tooth he cut without panadol at all! I plan to leave it on him until his teeth are all through. If it breaks, I'll be ordering another one quick smart!!

I've had the same reactions/comments as previously posted. I also get asked if it really works (with the implication being that it's just a placebo effect or all in my head!). Getting a bit sick of explaining (he's had it on a couple of months) so I'm thinking I might start playing with the *nutbag* reaction a bit LOL!

Google Amber teething necklaces and you will find heaps. Just make sure that they are Baltic Amber.
My Dd's is designed to break under strain, so she shouldn't get it stuck. They are also individually knotted.

I too am thinking of getting one for myself. i am still wearing a harmony bell that I got when pregnant, and will leave that one till I finish breastfeeding, as she loves to hold it while I feed.

I always get the "surfer dude" or "hippy" comments but always good comments, everyone loves it.
Same here. DS1 got his pretty late, when he was cutting his molars but coincidently broke his leg the same week it arrived and he hasn't had it off since. He's almost 2.5 and I have no plans to take it off any time soon. I love them.

DS2 has had his on since about 4 months. I got his from Flowerchild online store. It was much cheaper than anywhere else and is made by Inspired by Finn (both my boys' necklaces are).
