I'm so tired!! We've hit the dreaded 12 wks!! DD is feeding like a mad woman and waking up so much at night to feed, sometimes hourly, omg. I have 5 mouth ulcers!! Always a sign that I need more rest. And now I'm getting a cold Just what I need.
How long will it last? It's been 3 days now. Could tonight be the night of blissful sleep? I hope so.
Hang in there Heaven, it will get easier! Are you feeding bub in a chair? I found bringing DD into bed with us to feed so much easier as I could rest at the same time.(and maybe have a little nap if you feel comfortable to do so)
I know its so hard when your busy with the little one but try to eat lots of vegies for your health and look after yourself as well as your precious one
we usually found that DD took a good 3-5 nights during any developmental shift. it took us AGES to work out that there was a pattern though. have you thought back to any of her other really disrupted periods? may give an insight into what you are in for and how long ITMS.
hang in there, like all things this too shall pass xx
Go to bed woman!!! Take her with you, take a book, a magazine, a laptop or the TV. Plus snacks and drinks. Rest all day. Sleep when she does and ride the wave. It shouldn't be much longer but look after yourself while it lasts
DS had a growth spurt last week at 6 weeks and it lasted 3 days - constant feeding and very little sleep. I was almost out of my mind by the end of it. The next night he slept 6 hours straight (for the first time ever, but hasn't again since!) so I had a bit of a chance to rest and sleep.
It shouldn't be too much longer. Hang in there, and try and feed and rest in bed at the same time if you can.
Oh poor you!!!! I always think when they're feeding hourly they must be building up milk supply, so it shouldn't last too long. 12 weeks is such a massive milestone. Just wait until next week, you'll suddenly remark how DD doesn't fit into any of her clothes, is suddenly more "awake", can do all these new things. How exciting!
In the meantime, rest, rest, rest. Stuff the housework and stay in your pj's. Also make sure you eat and drink lots, because making all that milk requires a lot of fuel.
Babies are hard work, hey? But they do settle down and become more predicatable from here on...
Oh thank goodness I think it's over!!!!!!!!!
Last night she had her big sleep again, 5hrs, then another 3hrs, then 2hrs. I feel better, except for this damn cold. I swear she knows just when I think I can't cope anymore, haha, and gives me a good sleep.
Thanks so much for all the support as usual!! DH is home to look after us today, phew.
She definately increased my milk supply too, ouch!

Today DD is feeding really quickly, like 5mins max!! There's lots of milk in there and it feels pretty empty when she's done. And she's going longer than 3hrs between feeds!! Usually she feeds every 2.5-3hrs. Is this ok?? Why has she all of a sudden changed? Is this a normal 12 week thing or something?
Heaven - the best thing I found for mouth ulcers was taking extra l-lysine tablets. They work a charm and usually stop mine from getting bigger, or from taking off in the first place. I get cold sores when I am tired, l-lysine helps with that too. Glad to hear that Grace is getting over her development phase!
Hmmm SJ, it sounds as though all that growing has made her more grown up LOL! I'd say that feeding pattern is pretty normal, she's just gotten very efficient at feeding. YAY for you!
