How long was your Bumbo/BebePod useful for?

Hi all, considering getting a bumbo but not sure if they're as good as made out or just another gimmicky flash in the pan? I've read some old threads but especially keen for an update on how long they were really useful for.

We are still using ours at nearly 9 months, we have borrowed it from my sister, and she used it until her daughter was about 14 months - she was able to get out if it easily, but if she was just sitting in front of her feeding her, then it held her in place nicely.

Does it make a difference - length of use - on whether you have the tray or not?

I got a bebepod plus delivered yesterday (red). K still needs a little bit more neck control, she was leaning back in it a bit too much when I tried it out. It comes with a tray and I'm hoping it will be good for when we start feeding.

I brought my bumbo and tray when izzy was 3months. starting using it alot around 4 months. . . she's 9 months now, and still uses it for every feed. . . and i don't intend stopping until she is too big for it. I love my bumbo and wouldn't know what i would do with out it!.!.!.!

    The tray really isn't needed. . . I haven't used mine much.

We have been using our Bumbo for about a month now. We put him on the table while we are eating dinner (always supervised), it seems to make him feel included and some nights I even get to eat all my dinner while it is still hot.

I imagine we will get a fair bit more use out of it.

I just Googled this because I didn't know what it was and found that there has been a product recall in the US. Apparently not safe to use on tables and 23 children have been hurt. Some parents are also saying that they're not safe to use on the floor either.

I borrowed one off a friend and we got a fair bit of use out of it from 3 months up till 7 months but when DS hit 7 months he started to get frustrated in it and started throwing his head back and arching his back, so I don't use it as much as I was. I also didn't use it as much once he was able to sit by himself coz now I can plonk him on his play mat with his toys and get the dishes done etc.

I loved it, but I am glad I didn't pay for it.
