My DD was 7.2 at 8months and is about to have another weigh next week. I'm thinking she'll be between the 8-9ish mark now She's always been on the smaller side but always in proportion with visable growth. She even has some little fat rolls You would know in yourself whether or not there is reason for concern.
FWIW i get the 'oh she's so small' and 'oh she's so light' comments all the time too
Both my boys were a bit over 12kg at 12 months, but we got comments about how big they were. DD just had her 6 month check and she was 8.1kg, so as big as your DD already. I guess I just produce sizable children.
I would probably look at your DD and think she was tiny, but from reading through all the other posts it sounds like there are plenty of other bubs as small as her.
DD1 was 8kgs and DD2 was 7kgs. DD2 is still only 12.5kgs at 3.5 yrs so she's still a skinny minny.
TBH, after the initial concern that they were tiny (and I do still have occasional concerns for DD2), I'm relieved they're little lightweights. Given their age difference, there have been many occasions when I've had to carry both of them so if they had been "normal" I would never have coped.
As a pp said, the range of normal is enormous and I think the only important thing is that your LO is energetic and alert.
DS had his check up a little late so closer to 13 months and he was 9kg fully dressed with a full nappy, he is a short little stocky thing but 8kg is fine
