How much milk for 14 mo?

Just wondering if I am giving Cooper enough milk.

He has just dropped a milk feed (lunch), and has about 150ml for morning when he wakes up, and another one before he goes to sleep. So total of 300ml.

    Is this enough?

It might or might nit be enough depending on how much other dairy he has during the day, and what else he drinks...

The recommendation is for 3 serves of dairy a day. A serve is about 200ml, so this could be 3 cups of milk or a combination of milk and other dairy such as yoghurt, cheese and dairy. But really, other foods have calcium too, so as long as the calcium intake is sufficient then it really doesn't matter how much dairy, a carefully planned non-dairy diet can provide enough calcium in itself.

Alex is of a similar age and he has 3 bottles a day each around 200 mls. One when he wakes up, one in the mid arvo and one when he goes to bed. SOme nights if he is being particularly unselttled (he is a nightmare sleeper) we will give him one in the middle of the night to soothe him. Most kids his age seem to have between 2-3 I have noticed.

My clinic nurse told me that at that age they should be having 500-600ml of milk (including what goes on the cereal in the mornings) PLUS 2 serves of dairy (cheese, yoghurt).

So if he is only having 300ml of milk and that's all he wants, then maybe give him a little extra cheese and yoghurt. Also have you included what he gets on his cereal (if he gets anything)?
