I went to the hairdresser today, normally I take DS but as DH is on annual leave I had 4 hours to myself, it was great, but I missed DS terribly, so much so that it really has me worried how I will cope being separated from him when I return to work next year - Ahhhhhhh!!

Last week we went to the Gold Coast with friends and they babysat for 2 hours while DH and I went and had massages, again it was bliss but I missed DS terribly.

I think I need to schedule some Mummy time so get myself used to being away from him, but then I think I want to make the most of every moment until I HAVE to be seperated to return to work - its such a double edged sword!!

I think I'm very lucky too - my in laws live right down the street (its a good thing, trust me ) and my parents only 20 mins away... I can ring my MIL and if she's free (retired!) she comes over so I can get stuff done. Paperwork, cleaning, shopping, whatever it is, she loves having time with her granddaughter.

DH is also pretty good at dealing with DD when I need some time.

Kaz - I think its important that you get some time to yourself... the other girls have given you lots of good ideas and suggestions, time to implement some of them

its such a double edged sword!!
I have found this to be so true about so many aspects of motherhood/parenthood!!

OP - I'm off to the gym tomorrow for my first class!! (hoping it's not too embarrassing and I don't die of heart failure lol!).

Cass - How have you coped with so little personal time for so long? Don't answer that if you don't want to of course!
lol ummmm no idea!!! Actually there are days now where it really has worn me down. DH is good though and will take the boys for a walk out the back just so I can breathe. I'm really starting to crave a bit of space and went through a tough time the other week as Elijah was sleeping really badly for a while and I really wanted to just stop BFing and put him on a bottle so I didn't have to have him "attached" to me. Got past those thoughts after a couple of better sleeps and not to mention he's stopped biting me so much too lol.

    Being a single mum none.

Three days a week I work so I certainly don't consider that "me time". When I'm at home I never know how long he'll stay asleep for & often that time is filled with household chores.

Once he's down for the night though I do have me time, although sometimes I can't even rely on that as he'll wake up unexpectedly.

I squeeze in a little bit of reading sometimes during the day & always make time to go online when he's napping, but often this is at the expense of my housework .

Cass - I know that feeling of constantly being attached to!
Satya - I think 'me' time has to come before the housework sometimes!

I didn't make it to the gym the other day something else came up which was fairly important (sold my car and needed to be at home when the buyers arrived to look at it). Hopefully I'll get there this week though.
