How often do you have a nana nap? How much sleep do you need to feel optimal?

I feel terribly guilty when I have a nana nap and I was eondering how often you indulge? I have one DS so I can every now and then. How much sleep do you need per night to feel on top of everything and what time do you go to bed? I have an active toddler and I want to feel great again instead of struggling. Thanks!

If DD1 still had naps I would nana nap everyday! Best I can get is to tell her its quiet time and lie down on the couch for 20mins.

I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old that is in day-care full day for the whole week. I work mornings from 8 till 1pm and then I work for my husband in our shop in the afternoons. I also cook before 5pm that I go get the kids and I do the shopping and some errands for the house. I go to bed 11:30pm and get up in the morning at 6:00 (if one of the kids does not get up with DH at 5:30) I still give ds a night feed between 3am and 4am, but I think that within the next month he would be dropping that feed.

Ok that means that I get 6 and a half hours of sleep MINUS the 30 minutes that ds takes to feed = 6 hours of sleep. And that is all I need. But that is exactly the minimum. If I get to bed later or have to get up earlier, I need a nap. Usually I get to sleep once a week for about two hours. DH lets me take a nana nap, makes me feel good about it, because he tells me I deserve it and would usually do a BBQ for dinner so that I don't have to cook .. awww sweet.

I believe that if you are tired, you need to sleep. No use being drained and not being able to focus when you are caring for a bubba. So DON'T you dare feel guilty about sleeping!!!!

Ive ALWAYS found it hard to sleep in the day.....i often lie there and think about things i should be doing....i could prob count on one hand the amount of nana naps ive had since having children.....i reckon 3 over 6 years would top it.
I go to bed at 1030pm, wake around 7am for school drop off. Ive found this hard - this time last year i was getting up at 8-830am.......

For me....its not the amount of hrs of sleep ive had....its what time i go to bed. I know when this baby comes my whole night time routine is gonna change...and i will prob be in bed by 830pm most nights.....

Definately need more than the 2hrs I got last night....I need at least 6hrs.I love my sleep. Before kids, it was 8....I don't think I could sleep that long anymore! My sleep is always broken now. I get maybe 2-3hrs straight usually. I would give my left foot for 4hrs or more straight sleep a night. My kids are allergic to sleep. My (almost) 2 yr old still wakes at least 2 times every night. DS is usually 3 at least. And we're usually up at 6/6.30 every morning, though joy of all joys (not) lately it's been before 6am. I would also love to be able to have a nanna nap. But DS and DD's sleeps rarely coincide (sp??) and I work in the arvos now anyway, so I don't get them anymore . I used to love a good nanna nap. Occaisionally I can fit one in on a weekend, and DH lets me creep into bed discreetly without a kid attached, oh the bliss, but that's rare now too. I miss sleep.

I need 8-9 hours sleep a night...sleep is my best friend. Bed is my very favorite place! I think I usually get about 8 hours, sometimes a bit more.

I would nana nap every single day if I could. I adore naps. But alas, there seems to be little time for naps except sometimes on a weekend.

Sleep is awesome and you should NEVER feel guilty for partaking!

I have 1 ds, and when he naps, i nap.. I get about 7-8 hours (broken) a night, but I've always loved my sleep, so need more.. but I think you're health has a lot to do with it - I'm over-weight at the moment, and i think that plays a big part in me feeling tired and lacking of energy most of the time..

I have the odd nana nap if I can, but only if I can't keep my eye's open & DD's are at school & DS sleeping.
I might have one a month. I get 7 - 8 hours sleep most nights, but still find it hard to wake up every morning.
    I go to bed around 10.30 - 11 (usually!) & I'm up around 7 - 7.30 most mornings for school. Sometimes earlier.

I feel guilty sleeping & most of the time I find it hard to sleep through the day.

I hardly ever nana nap. About 5 times this last 12 months. I tend to do it when either she or both of us is ill, because she hasn't had a regular nap since she was about 20 months old and if she doesn't sleep then i can't either.

As for how much i need to feel optimal....i don't know, i'll tell you whenever i finally get enough!
