I'd also go the zinc cream or bepanthen. Plus, making sure it stays dry - maybe with a bib or one of those spit bandanas if bubs is a heavy drooler.

Thanks! I have Bepanthen, I'll give that a try.
I just use my nappy rash cream... works a treat.
i had the same problem as logan was such a drooler. lol
um all the creams above work a treat!
also just keep it dry.
i found that putting powder on it did nothing but make it worse!!!
Yeah it seemed the powder was making it worse, or at least not working.
She fell asleep within minutes of me putting it on, so it's obviously soothed it for her. Poor little chicken, it's so red.
Another thing too, is when you bath her next, use a little bit of warm salty water to give it a good clean with too.
My DD is 9 months and still has the mild rash - it was really bad when she was little. We tried everything but the best thing we found was to keep it clean and dry (when possible) and we put some of her sigmacort cream (for excsma) on it just to sooth it - that really helps with the irritation. The doc prescribed it for her and he said it was mild enough to be safe.
