If he is already feeding that often then he's just growing as he is meant to grow and nothing you do will change that kwim? Keep up the good work and don't listen to anyone when they tell you he is too small.

My DD1 was similar weight-wise, she was born at 2.9kg and didn't hit 6kg until almost 7m - at 12m she was 7.6kg and even now she is light for her age although she is quite tall. She just has that physique and takes after DP. Are you or DH small builds?

We aren't small builds, but we aren't big either. My family is fairly tall, I'm the shortest at 5'8", and solid build; DH's family is prob no taller than 5'10" and pretty average weight.
Guess I'll just see how he goes, who knows it might all change when we start solids.

It's just hard to know your bub is okay when everyone says how cute and healthy a big chubby baby is, whereas everyone says "oh he's soo tiny / how premature was he / you need to feed him more" and look as if there is something wrong with him

I was paranoid about Boo's weight gains too. At first they were huge... and then they were so small. Would take her months to change the "big number".

Out of my ridiculous paranoia I started taking her to the baby nurse at the chemist every week to get weighed and measured. Its monetarily and judgement free. Extremely awesome service. Anyway, she was weighing and measuring Boo every week, and every week saying she is just perfect. One week I said "but she hasnt really put on much weight, she is down into the 5th percentile!" and the nurse told me that she hasnt grown much taller either. She is proportionately perfect, 5th percentile for height too. She is just a very sweet LITTLE girl and there is nothing wrong with that.

Was good to be reminded that weight isnt everything. That as she said, if she had been putting on more weight then we would be starting to look at possible overweight issues!

Sometimes other people are helpful, and sometimes they just need to shut up!
