I'm one of those mean mums with a gate blocking the kitchen! We had no gate on for a week when we first moved into the new house and man, did I get frustrated with DD!!
I have cooked with her, although that consisted of letting her ice the cakes, and when we made biscuits, she put the choc drop onto the top of the dough.
One thing she does get involved in is making homemade pizzas - i have everything chopped and ready to go in a serving centre and then she just helps put the pizzas together - as long as you don't worry too much about hygiene, and double dipping, its all good!

I always think other SAHM's must be like stepford wives...immaculate house, immaculate kids, tupperwares full of baking, home-cooked meals daily, a face full of make up and no trackies on ever...please tell me I'm not the only one who is totally NOT this!!

OMG I always totally think all the other SAHM's are like this!!!! I wear trackies most days, never put make up on, totally need to pluck my eye brows, and I don't do that much cooking (mind you I've cooked 2 batches of biscuits this week, and a cake today!) but we do have home cooked meals cos we're vegetarian, but before that I'd get DH to pick up take away on the way home.. LOL
