Immunisation before Xmas - Would you take the risk??

I'd leave it. DS2 is due for his 4 month and I'm waiting till after xmas.

I usually delay mine anyway. Not really intentionally (I don't think ) but DS1 was always about 3-4 months behind due to illness or something and didn't have his 18 month until just before his second bday.

A few weeks won't matter.

I would leave it. I think that kids need the opportunity to rest as much as possible after immunisations and Christmas is a pretty busy week and my kids don't sleep as much as usual that week because of all the things we are doing.

12 month immunisations are also 3 needles (from memory) and both my kids have had bruises on their arms and legs at the injection sites after their 12 month ones.

I took my ds to get his today so i guess we will see how he goes. I'm not particularly concerned though. He is already cruddy with more teeth coming through so it cant get much worse. As for christmas - well we dont have to travel more than 20mins away from home so if we need to leave then we will.

MrsB26 - It really shouldn't affect him for more than 24 hours after anyway so by Friday if he is still unhappy and unsettled from his immunisations then there is something really wrong. I hope your little man is feeling okay - needles aren't much fun.

I just had DS vaccinated today, the 12 month ones, was two weeks late with it. It is three needles, two arms and a leg....I didn't think to delay it, so fingers crossed. We aren't travelling at all over Christmas and it will be pretty quiet....but if you are going to be busy with lots of things on, I would probably delay it....my little man was so brave, just a couple of yelps, now he is having a nice sleep, I hate immunisations too and nearly had a cry

we are getting the four month vaccines tomorrow. Honestly, I don't think it will be a problem. But then none of my kids have ever had any adverse reactions and nor are we travelling anywhere.
