DS woke up last night screaming blue murder, which freaked DH and I out because we didn't know what was wrong. It took a good 10 minutes to calm DS down, after he had screamed himself to the point of hiccups. It was very distressing for all of us. He eventually calmed down and had a feed, although he had only fed and been changed an hour earlier. He slept well last night without any further trouble.
We've just started BLS but he hasn't shown any physical reaction to the food, and we checked him over last night to make sure there was nothing physically wrong.
The only thing we can think of is that he had a nightmare. I've heard of night terrors, but for some reason I thought that was only experienced by toddlers. DS is only 5 mths old - do bubs this young experience night terrors? Do they become more frequent for some children, or are generally just occasional events?
