Interstate/International Travel with kiddies

What do you do about getting to your hotel? Normally I'd get in a taxi at the airport and off we'd go to our hotel but what do you do when you have two babies and no car seats? And now do you get around day to day if public transport isn't available?

I'm not sure where we're going yet - either Singapore or Sydney - and I'm sure there would be trains etc but we're going to be carting so much stuff with us that the thought of having to drag it and two kids onto a train is not pleasant!

when we went to Melbourne we booked a limo with a car seat, it didn't cost us all that much more for having the piece of mind of 1- a driver who knew WHERE he was going( a rare thing in Melbourne so we discovered) and 2- the security of having a car seat (I am a particuarly paranoid mum when it comes to this)

I forgot to add that this was just to and from the airport the rest of the time we either walked or took a tram so I am not much help here sorry
