    Unhappy Its breaking my heart...

I work Mndays & wednesdays as we need the money.

My mum looks after Bella for the 6 hrs im at work. When I leave for work Bella is fine - doesnt get upset at all BUT when my mum leaves when I get home Bella gets upset and cries...

Makes me feel like she doesnt love me as much.. its breaking my heart...

Did any one else go through something like this or does Bella not love me anymore?

    She still loves you sweet

Babies are fickle little creatures. Is this new to her? ie have you only gone back recently?
Nanna comes over to play with her and only play with her. She has no idea that there are more play dates to come, cos she has no idea of time and day.
Darcy used to cry when we left daycare at first (cos it was fun). It wasn't until she realised in her little mind that it was an ongoing thing that that stopped.

Oh hun! It's not that she doesn't love you anymore, but it's more than Nan probably makes it a pretty fun day for her kwim? We're just boring old Mum, but Nans are really fun and do things that are different to what we do during the day. I know it doesn't make your heart hurt any less, but it's great that she is forming this wonderfully close relationship with her. Maybe you could try some distraction while your Mum leaves so she doesn't get so upset? My mum used to have to do it with me when my nan left after a visit as I would scream bloody murder - she even had a copper who lived a few houses down come and see what all the commotion was one night LOL.

    dont be silly.

See.. she KNOWs your coming back.. But will her nanna.. well shee doesnt come back for what seems like years to her.

Shes just a very clever little girl and knows her mummy wont leave her and not come back. Its great that she has a close bond with her nanna.

Kate babies need love. Your baby is lucky enough to get love from your mum AS WELL as from you! The more people your baby is attached to and loves and feels safe with, the more well-adjusted and able to give love she will be.

I understand how you are feeling, though - I work full time, my DH is home with them 3 days and my mother two days a week. Regularly they attach to mum or DH more than me. Ollie, my youngest, has a particularly soft-spot for me at the moment and cries whenever I put him down, but my 3 year old calls my mother mum sometimes and cries when he can't spend the day with her (it probably has something to do with the fact that he can jump on the bed and watch DVDs all day at her place LOL!)

Relax, Kate - kids always love their mums the best

hun. I know you have had had a rough trot at the moment with Bella being sick so seeing your baby girl attaching to someone else is probablly hitting some heart strings. I know I would feel the same.

I guess the main thing to remember is no matter who Bella is showing love to the most important person in the world to her is you.

    Thanks ladies..

I know that she loves me.. im just feeling a bit flat with her being sick and all and all of us not getting much sleep.. kinda feeling like im falling apart a bit - like a failure of a mum for some reason.

Thanks again ladies you have made me feel better.
