    Question baby helmet/head guard?

I'm not one for wrapping my bubs in cotton wool but i'm seriously considering buying a head guard/helmet thingy for ds2. He has just learnt to pull himself up onto his knees and in the last week he's proabably fallen over and hit his head around 10 times! I'm starting to worry all that bumping will hurt his little brain I've been putting big cushions behind him when he's on his knees to try and soften his fall but he keeps falling when i'm out of the room. Our house has polished wooden floors throughout, i have rugs in the main areas but he always seems to go straight down on the hard floor. I might duck of to the loo for like 10 seconds and before i go i make sure he's laying down and safe and then a few seconds later i hear THUD and a big wail and he's managed to pull himself up and topple over again. I've tried taking him to the toilet with me but as soon as i put him down he's off and crawling and well TMI but its a bit difficult to stop what i'm doing and go after him IYKWIM

Anywho so i'm thinking of buying a helmet/head guard thingy but i don't know where to get them or if they really work??

Mods i hope i'm not breaking the rules by asking for suggestions (the whole product promotion thing) but i'm getting worried ds2 will do himself real damage.

    Thanks

lesty my DD went through this stage for a couple of weeks - it's pretty awful but she did get better and now she is walking but very rarely falls and hurts herself. So be patient, I know its hard but he will probably get much more co-ordinated in a very short period of time. In the meantime, do you have rugs? we have a rug in the lounge and put those foam squares that fit together under it so it is soft to fall on. Of course she still managed to conk her head on the hard floors all the time but at least there was somewhere she was safe!

Thank pixie, I know ds will grow out of it but its horrible listening to him cry and the big THUD his head makes when it hits the ground is horrible. I feel terrible, ds was right next to me this morning, he had pulled himself up onto his knees and was holding onto my legs. I turned my head for one second and THUD he cracked his poor head again
I've come up with an idea though, i had a look for a helmet thingy online and they're too expensive considering he'll probabaly only use it for a month or two soooo i found his old head support thingy that we used to use in the car when he was newborn and i think i can transform it into a makeshift helmet without too much trouble.. i'm so stingie i'm always looking for ways to make things rather than buy them Of course i'll make sure its safe and he can't strangle himself.
So that my project for today
