Just when you think youve got it all worked out.....

    .....everything changes!!!!

DD went from two sleeps to one at about 12 months and seemed to fall in to the new pattern really easily, but now at 17 alomost 18 months she seems to be trying to change her pattern again (which is great) but i cant work out whats going on.....interested to find out what other peoples days are like.

The last few months for us have been

    5/6am - Up and BF.
    8am - Breakfast
    10am - BF and sleep
    12.30/1.30pm-Up and Lunch soon after
    3pm - BF
7.00/7.30pm - Bath, BF and Bed

But now she seems to want to sleep at Midday and go to bed later, my problem is, im not sure where lunch fits in? Yesterday she went to bed at Midday and woke up at 1.45pm starving hungry and still tired and was misserable the rest of the day. Today i tried to get lunch in before bed and she wouldnt go down till after 1pm having had lunch too close to bed time....and will now probably be up till after 9pm, which i feel is a bit late.

Probably a totally rambling message.....so, whats your day like???

around the time DS started having one sleep a day, we swapped lunch to be before bed, so lunch moved to 11:30 and sleep to 12:30

Here we still sometimes have 2 sleeps and sometimes 1 so it's a bit hard to know where lunch will go. What sometimes works for me is that if she is still awake mid-morning she has a bit of a snack, fruit, toast or something like that so I know if she does have a sleep she won't be starving for lunch. We're inbetween too - so if she's still up at 10.30 I try to give her a snack about 11 - then bed asap. Bit mean but the poor chook fell asleep in her highchair still sucking on her sandwich yesterday...but she was not tired at 10 Good luck!

We do the same as Pandora. Since DS moved to one day sleep, I've brought lunch forward to 11:30. Our days are roughly like this...

    Wake up around 5:30-6:30
    Breakfast 7-7:30ish
    Morning tea 9:30
    Lunch 11:30
Sleep 12:30 for between 2-3 hours
    Afternoon tea around 3:30ish
    Dinner around 6pm
Then bath, milk and bed by 7:30pm

If we're out and about he sometimes falls asleep late morning in the pram or in the car so he'll have lunch later on instead of afternoon tea. Having the morning tea makes me feel more comfortable that he's had something to eat and isn't going to wake up absolutely hungry and grumpy.

I tend to change my lunch time to go with what time my kids woke in the morning.. My kids are generally always up at 6. We have lunch anywhere from 10:30 to 1pm.. A normal day lunch is at 11 though..

Other then that we don't really have a set time for anything. Nap time I like to be started by 11:30-12 though otherwise she sleeps to long and doesn't go to bed when the boys do at night

Thanks so much ladies....DD never seems to want to eat breakfast before 8am so it makes it hard to get her to eat again before 11.30!! But i guess it will just settle down when she finds the pattern she wants.
