My first little boy walked around the 18mth mark, he actually never traditionally crawled. He only commando crawled and when he would try and walk, got frustrated as he was faster commando crawling.
My second little boy was around the 17mth mark, he could crawl and rathered that than trying to walk.
My little girl on the other hand was walking around 10mths. She was my third and had some keeping up to do and toys to pinch
DD1 - Walked at about 19.5 months - she did have hip dysplasia but that was all over and done with by 6 months ish so I don't believe that really impacted it - she just was slower on the physical side of things. She did the knee walking thing you mention your DD2 does for about 6-8 weeks I reckon.
DS2 - Walked at about 14 months - he is a far more physical being than she is. He couldn't stand on his own, he mastered walking before standing still - which is typical of his caution to the wind attitude.
I was a late walker, refused until I was 18 months (apparently I had no interest in even trying) No other health problems, but I have bad coordination, which apparently could be why I was a late bloomer
