Leaving a toddler in the bath

Hi I'm just wondering how old your lo was when you first started leaving the room when they were in the bath? I know children can drown in an inch of water etc so just wondering what the acceptable age is and also any things you do to minimize accidents?

    i think Miss B was about 15months!

and it was only for a few seconds at a time (and yes i know thats all it takes), while i cleaned up dinner! but i always had her talking to me when i was out of the room so i could here her!

and we just drilled in her head not to stand up in the bath and when she did once, sorry to say she got a smack and has never done it again! she learnt her lesson!

in both houses we have lived in with dd1 her bed room has been right next to the bathroom. first house we didnt have a bath, only a shower but she would go in there on her own from about 15/18 months while i got her pjs ready. same at this house. she is neaarly 3. i will leave her for a minute or two...but we sing a song while i go to the other room etc. and she dosnt stand up in the bath. saying that, she did slip once and iheard the water splash and the singing stopped, she was ok and had just slipped backwards some how, but it certainly made me more carful. with something so precious you can never be too carful!

I have been leaving dd in while I get her pjs ready etc and I hear her playing etc but my dh feels really strongly that I shouldn't. I have told him if he had the amount of stuff to do he would have to make shortcuts here and there, and honestly I wouldn't just stick her in and walk away.. Anyway thanks

DD and DS1 bathe together and they have been left alone for a few mins at a time since DS1 was about 2, so DD would have been 3-3 1/2. I would maybe clear the table, or get their clothes. I will now leave them for about 10ish mins while I do the kitchen or dress DS2 from his bath. I can always hear them nattering away together and make them call to me if they're too quiet. They're now nearly 3 and 4.

I leave all 3 big ones in the bath and have for awhile.

If there is whinging its good. If the whinging and fighting stop then we go in to see what the problem is lol

I trust DS to dob in his sisters if they stand up.

My DD doesnt like me being in the bathroom with her anymore lol. I think its abit of her chillout time...

I put her in and tend to do things around that end of the house so I can look in on her every couple of minutes. Shes huge on talking to herself, so I dont worry too much when I can hear her talking to her face washer etc lol

So probably left her alone abit more in the past couple months. Shes now 2 years 8 months.

I leave DS (3.5) and DD (21 months) in the bath together for 5-10 minutes at a time. I am usually clearing up the dining room which is right across the hall, door is open and I can hear them. I have been doing this for a few months now.

My boys are three and I still don't leave the room. It's more the slipping and seriously hurting themselves that freaks me out.

Probably about 2 years. Our bath is in the ensuit and the computer is in the bedroom so I usually just go on the computer. That way I'm right there if something was to happen. If im not doing that, I'll clean the bathroom while they are in the bath.

Our bathroom is in the middle of the house off the hallway so I go up and down, tidying up, getting things ready while the 2 kids are in the bath (5y & 2y). I can see thm as I walk past and hear them all the time. DD1 will also dob on DD2 if she tries to stand up.

I don't leave DD1 yet, she's 2 yrs 3 months. DH does though to go get things ready or something if I'm feeding DD2 but I stress the whole time when I know he's gone and am listening very closely for her. I wouldn't leave her for long any time soon.

I don't leave mine either. DD is the same age as Heaven's DD1 and my DS is 11mths. At our house usually DH does the bath and I get clothes and nappies ready.

If I am on my own I try and make sure I have everything ready before the bath and they get out one after the other. DD runs around nudey while I dress DS.

I'm just too nervous to even leave DD in there unsupervised - the other night the oven timer went while they were in the bath and I knew if I left it, dinner would burn, so I bolted from the bathroom to the kitchen, turned the oven off, flung the door open and bolted back, heart hammering the whole time!

How do you get your LOs to learn not to stand up? I won't leave DD (18 months) alone because I can't trust her to stay sitting. Even with me in the room, she managed to slip and hit her head on the side of the bath a couple weeks ago. And still hasn't learnt to stay on her butt

I was wondering this the other day.
I stand at the door to the bathroom and clean the highchair or use the time to clean the bathroom, but I haven't left the room yet.

TC- I do the important stuff first- wash DD, wash hair etc.... Then if she stands up, I get her out.
She loves the bath, so learnt pretty quickly.

DS is 4 and I still don't leave him. Maybe a quick run to get a towel or something. Not really sure when I will honestly. He is a kid that likes to slip around the bath and can be really clumsy. I guess I worry about the worst.
