Ok, So my DS1 (2yrs old) is ALWAYS playing with himself. He will do it all the time anywhere, ever since he got potty trained just before christmas. He will get himself hard and the cry because "doodle's ouchy mummy".
I know this isn't abnormal as such but have very little experience with boys and was wondering how I should be handling it. At the moment I just keep on telling him to stop playing with it, or it will hurt.
Yep that's about it lol! I just say to leave it alone or it will get sore.
Try not to make a big issue out of it either because this age they tend to do things they know will get your attention. Say it gently and then try to distract them with something like a toy or say that you heard a bird and then take him to the window for a look etc. I'd give the same advice to nose picking too
We have told DS that it is private so he can't do it when we are out or when other people are over. He seemed to be ok with that and has laid off the poor fella for a while.
LOL I thought I was blessed when I didn't have a boy to do that. TUrns out.. GIRLS DO IT TO Dp came home to dd having "nappy free time" and she was just sitting on the floor having a look and a poke lol and he comes up to me really concerned and goes "honey... wt...f is she doing!!!" haha im like 'i know it's not very pleasent to see but we cant get up her for it. She's just exploring. If it makes you that uncomfortable just distract her with something else' I think though as adults we can't separate the sexualisation from it kwim?
