Maybe if you have enough storage under the house you could keep it.
I remember when I was little visiting my Gran's house and the cot there was the one that my Dad had slept in - I thought that it was the coolest thing ever.
I feel a bit sad but the day was coming. Little Miss Olivia keeping climbing in and out of it s we were worried she was really going to hurt herself. So after she managed to make one of the connections at the end come out yet again I just went in there and took it down and put her toddler bed in there..
She was so excited lol. Normally her day sleeps are on our bed but she wanted her new bed and was asleep in 5 minutes
Fingers crossed she sleeps well tonight
I feel sad about my cot. It has served me well for my 4 babies over 10 years. I can't bear to give it away just yet so it will go in storage under my house for the time being

aw Nic, it is sad that this phase of your family life is comming to an end.
I have just put away Eva's newborn clothes and I was so sad that I won't be getting them out again. I just don't have the heart to part with them yet either.
I'd be tempted to keep it too![]()
Awww Nic, I understand.![]()
Oh I would love to keep it and up until last month I was going to but thabnks to DD getting in and out she has managed to put a little more wear and tear in it then I would have liked.. so it is probably no longer safe for a baby to go in..
Plus we want to downsize everything in our house in readiness for our renovations (which will eventually happen) Might get Dh to quietly take it away one day
I can totally understand this sadness. I am determined to keep our cot even though my baby days are over. I just love it. It's a beautiful piece of furniture (pictured here).... unusual as it it made of turned wood and is white. I have visions of laying my grandchildren down to sleep in it. I can't bear to put in under the house... too dirty here... it's safely up in my wardrobe for the time being.
omg nic- i feel so sad. knowing that i too one day have to do this.long time away but still , big hugs.
bath- your daughter is a stunner, must take after you![]()
Awww thanks LSKI like that photo because she hasn't straightened all the natural wave out of her hair!
I really wanted to keep mine to for the same reason.. I have visions of my children bringing their children over and them having a sleep in there.
I am starting to think I might just have to keep it. Silly but I got a lump in my throat thinking about having to get rid of it.
Oh we pulled ours down about this time last year. It was going to a new home. A friend of ours was about to have their baby and I offered them cot that all 3 of my boys slept in. It was given to us so it didn't have a lot of meaning to me as I didn't buy it, but it still was a sad day. I get to visit it though and see it in photos LOL
Totally understand where your coming from.....it would be a hard day for me too when it eventually comes around.....hugs....![]()
I have the cot stored in my little shed and I go out every now and then to pat it and tell it how much I still love it
Ihave offered it to my SIL but I honestly dont know if I can part with it....I sold on our bassinett and cried for 3 days after wards
I am so glad I am not the only one who has such a strong attachment to thier cot. I am remembering the night we got the cot delivered and set up. We kept walking past the room going wow we are really having a baby.. lol
Simon is so happy to see the last of it though. Thankfully although he doesn't get my attachment he won't make me get rid of it till I am ready..
I'm keeping mine forever!!
After DD we kept it assembled in our spare room whilst TTC # 2. 2 years and 8 months later I was tired of looking at it because there was no baby to put in it and sent it to storage at the in-laws. The very next month we were pregnant and now DS is in it!
We have just taken the side of it so DD is using it as a toddler bed now...then we will use it for number 2 and I think I will keep it lol Im hopeless like that!
I so understand the bittersweet attachment to it *hug* Make sure you hang on to it until you are absolutely sure you can part with it - not something you want to give away and then regret!
