Only if you need to wake them as your heading to work and you need to get them ready for daycare, i dont wake my children up at all!!! LET THEM SLEEP!!!
Does your baby have a wake up time?
Do you wake them up at the same time every morning or do they wake up at the same time every morning by themsleves? Or do you just leave them to wake up whenever they will?
Only if you need to wake them as your heading to work and you need to get them ready for daycare, i dont wake my children up at all!!! LET THEM SLEEP!!!
Ps My Alistair who is 11 months wakes up for playtime between 5 6 or 7 am. If he wakes and sings away at 5am i dont get him up til at least 6 30 am and half the time after a nappy change and a bottle and bit if a play in cot he goes back to sleep. Then after that he makes so much noise that it is definately get up time !!
Sam appears to have settled on a wake up time of 7-7:30. We give him a dream feed around 10:30pm, sometimes 11pm... we've tried everything we can to get him to wake up around 6am, leaving his nappy unchanged and feeding him at 10pm, no later... he just wakes up around 7am, no matter what.
DH is disappointed as he'd rather like a Samuel alarm to get him up at 6!

can i ask? why do you want to wake babies up or have them wake at certain time (if you dont need to get out the door at 7am?)
DH has a nasty tendency to sleep through his alarm... he never sleeps through Sam crying (I do sometimes!), which is why he would like the earlier wake up. I don't mind so much, and it at least gives us a bit of a sleep in on Saturdays... but it's a bugger for trying to get to church on a Sunday morning!

ok the sunday church thing yes i can understand (except i dont attend church) but yes i understand that circumstance.
I have always let DD wake upi whenever she is ready too. The only times I have ever woken her have been when we have to be somewhere. From an early age she kind of set her wake up time as 7.00-8.00am, these days it is more like 7.30-9.00am and if I happen to be asleep when she wakes up she just lays quietly looking at me waiting for me to wake upshe has never cryed upon waking in the morning, she just waits and chats to herself after a while.
i just posted and it went else where woops.... oh well ill try again as i posted that excatly my way of thinking calm bub calm mum and happy all round!
How cute! My DD does this too. Its my absolute favourite thing - to open your eyes and see a gorgeous bubba just looking at you intently (usually sucking on her blanket!)
I only wake up DD if she sleeps longer than 8:30am. She normally wakes up at 7-7:30, but I find if I leave her to 'sleep in' the day goes a bit hay wire, and she won't have her day sleeps.
Hmmm... Sam's day sleeps have been utter crap lately, perhaps we should try getting him up earlier in the morning... it's about the one thing we haven't tried yet!

my Ds usually wakes up at around 7am, though i have to admit if hes not up by then i do wake himif i dont his day sleeps are absolutley rubbish! it just works so much better for us. i'd rather wake him then and get up earlier myself then have to suffer the consequences for the rest of the day! i think you just gotta do what works for you. Butterfly warrior - it might be worth a try.
When DS first started sleeping through the night and was still having two day sleeps he used to wake around 6-6.30am. These days its generally between 7-8am, most days around 7.30am and then he has a sleep after lunch.
If he isn't awake by 8am, then generally I will wake him unless he's not well etc. DD and I have well and truly started our day by then and it's just easier if everyone is in sync.

Charlotte used to have final morning wake up (ie the actual get up wake) at 9-9.30...she was like that for ages...then it was around 8.
About a month ago she went to 7 am is UP time!! lol Did my head in, as I dont have ot get up for work. lol
She has since settled again to about 8, but she has been all over the show with her night sleeping the last week she slept until lunchtime the last 3 days straight.
