Chels has started rolling so she is doing the same thing.. only way i stop her is she has a monkey rattle and she plays with that now while i change her....
I have found since Joshua has started crawling he doesnt stay put when i change his nappy and dress him. It is so frustratingIt is ok when he has wet his nappy but when he does a poo it gets pretty messy! I think i need to invent a seatbelt for the change table! I always change him on the changetable but i have tried changing him on the floor, bed, lounge.... nothing keeps him put. I sing to him and that keeps him entertained for ummmm let me think 1 second!!!!!!!!! Did this happen to you and is there any ideas on how to keep him still? thanks

Hey newmumlou,
I haven't had our baby yet...but I was in a baby store today and saw "seatbelts" for changing tables for sale...don't know how much they were...they were made out of terry towelling sort of material and looked like you velcroed them around baby's tummy...
Not sure if they are effective or not!
Good luck!
As monnie said above, you can buy velcro seatbelt things.
Cooper is such a wriggler too and I know how frustrating it can be. I love it when DH is home as he helps hold Cooper down or reads him a book. I try giving Cooper different toys but it doesn't usually hold his attention long enough.
Sorry I don't really have any good tips for you!
My son never did it but my daughter does it all the time it drives me crazy. It takes at least 10 - 15 minutes to dress her in a romper and forget about doing her hair its a joke. Its so stressfull.
Thanks so much everyone.... lol monnie, here i thought i was being creative when i said i should invent seatbelts.... i will definatly go and check it out. Thanks girls!
My little guy is 15 months and he does this... so frustrating. As soon as the nappy is off, he's flipped over onto his tummy and he's sliding of the bed. It then becomes a restling match and he's sooo strong! It takes a lot of strength from me just to get the nappy on decent enough. He's fought free from dh sometimes and the nappy's half slipped sideways when he's toddled off!
Oh yeah!!! Em was a shocker for this! Forget a seatbelt - we needed a straightjacket!!!! (no, of course we didn't do it!).
IO would often crawl around after her dressing her LOL. Can't offer much help, except that it does pass. Now Em's old enough to be more interested in what is going on, so i explain what i am doing & she listens etc.
Good luck!
This mornings change went a little better. she grapped the TV remote mid change and well she layed there still and played with the remote. I will be trying this from now on. I have got the old stereo remote and removed the batteries so she can have her own special nappy change remote.
Mads: i will definatly try the string with a rattle. I actually tried giving him a toy this morning and he actually stayed there just until i got the nappy on .... then i gave up putting pants on.... rudy nudy it is! Josh too puts his hands down there when i am changing him, yes it is frustrating and exhausting.... thanks girl!!!!
Mr Moo: i know they are so strong.... little cheeky devils!
Linda: LOL about the straightjacket.... i agree
Spunkymonkeys: remote should work for Josh too actually.... he loves them! Ta![]()
DS is a major wriggler. I usually give him a toy while I clean and have learnt to put his nappy on with him upsidedown (on his tummy), he stays stiller on his tummy!
OMG Panna and Mr Moo..... how talented are you too.... i could never do that and i have changed so many nappies in my childcare carrier!
Newmum Goldbug make a seatbelt. Babies Galore Sell them. I've got an acrobat too and I've perfected the standing napping.
Yep, we do the standing up nappy change here too.![]()
