What do people do when they refuse and be naughty at night time????? HELP
He has back teeth coming through but he has gotten into a habit that yelling and screaming means that mum and dad come in....(putting him down again saying goodnight and leaving then the next time putting him down without talking) or going in growling at him to stop the noise and its sleep time... but we know growling at him just makes him worse. eg right now he is yelling one minute and talking the next... NO kidding ...
I have even succumbed to Painstop as this is stupid. This is new as he usually sleeps all night and then has 2 daysleeps. Since Frid just refuses and now refuses to go down and stay asleep.... refuses bottle, bottle water water in sip cup ,,, he loves pats on bum but then screams when you stop and no i will not be doing that to get him to sleep for hours on end.
Im a nurse and work 3 pm shifts a week well try to anyway ... im up and awake as i got home at 10pm DH in bed exhausted as he worked today.... so any advise would be much appreciated to rectify this new annoying habit of not sleepinh and throwing tantrums at the ripe old age of 13 mths.
HELP lol This didnt happen with DS1 ....

Big hugs to you! I have just gone through this with my now 14 month old! It drove me crazy. He was getting two top molars, and just started to walk and decided night time was for playing and if we didn't want to play at 2am, he cried too. He did get past this phase and is back to normal now (well he has bronciolitis at present!) so hang in there. I also work Wed-Fri and hate it when people say "sleep when he does".... um, when? haha
Like any tough phase, keep telling yourself "It doesn't last forever".
I wonder if 2 sleeps a day are too much for him and he is not so tired at night hence he plays up a bit? I remember the parent help line that I called when DD was 11 months said to start phasing out the 2nd day sleep at about 12 months so then they will be tired at night. It may take some adjusting for your DS and he may start falling asleep at dinner time but may be worth a go? Just an idea!
He is thankfully getting better .... I just got home from work and he hasnt woken yet
To cut one daysleep out NO NO NO lol Seriously i really just go with him you know the tired 'grumpy ' & 'not happy jan 'signs . Its very cute now as he puts his head on the floor when he is playing when he is tired .... then i offer a bottle and he wants it then and now and then means the cot and sleep time . So we will see what happens now he is getting better health wise...
Dh and i think it is the lovely 'seperation anxiety/naughtiness' is creeping in ....
Who knows hey lol we love him all the same ... last night early morning i just sooo needed to vent...
And DH and i are trying for another .... we must be mad
