ahhhh I'm not sure I'm ready lol. Part of me is so, so proud of him and part of me is crying for my baby. He's had his bed set up in his room for a while now but still sleeping in his cot, but last night wanted to sleep in it, but only stayed about 5 mins and wanted his "old bed" being the cot. Today for his sleep he went into the new bed for about 10 mins then wanted his "old bed". Tonight he went into his new bed and he's still there, ASLEEP..... I'm not sure which face it should be lol.
This isn't just a tiny step, it's HUGE!! He's still been sleeping in OUR room, right next to me in his cot. Been there since the day he came home from hospital at 2 days old. He's 11 days off 2 1/2 exactly. I've just been leaving it all up to him to move when he's ready to sleep in his bed and room. Obviously he felt ready and for that I'm very proud of him, but I think I'm going to miss him tonight. I wasn't ready yet!!! lol
Isn't it funny when you think it will be them finding it hard and in the end, they just do it when it's time!! Just think of all the good stuff that will come with him being older (but I know it's hard - life just keeps moving, doesn't it, whether you want it to or not!)
Wow....that is a big step....sounds like he ok about it all - its mumma that needs the hugs....
For what its worth, it doesnt get any easier. My first baby turns 6 tomorrow, and im finding myself quite tearful thinking how far she has come...no longer a baby, but a little lady....
Hey Bec, long time no see!! How are your little treasures doing? They do just do it when it's right and that's why I've left it to him. I've had plenty of comments about it but stuck to my guns because it's one of those things I think which helps them develop into strong and confident people.
mbear, oh how right you are, it's momma for sure!! lol. I got teary just reading your first line lol. I am happy that he feels confident enough to make the decision, makes me feel like we're doing the right thing with him.
