When they are teenagers and run screaming from the room.
I'm not sure what hiding your body from your children is supposed to teach them?
so this might not be in the right section ...
when do you think a child is too old to see their parent naked, I'm talking having showers dashing from bathroom etc to get clothes...
jase thinks jack is too old now to see me in the bath or shower... or to see me in just my bra etc...
I dont have a problem with Jack seeing me starkers he hasn't asked any ?? about body parts etc... I understood when Jase had a problem if his mum or my mum took Jack to the toilet and used toilet as well..that I understand but me in the shower I just dont get
please dotn judge Jase he is set in his ways
the question is when is a child too old???? to see the opposit sex Jase still has jack in the shower with him at night

My family and DH's family are all pretty free and easy with things like this. In my family, I'm one of two girls, I don't think it was until my sister and I were in the midst of hormonal teenage girl craziness that my Mum and Dad were a bit more discreet about things. Now, it's not like we all parade around in the nude all the time or anything (it's too cold atm anyway) but we'd get dressed and undressed infront of each other, go in and out of the bathroom etc. And by all of us I mean in my immediate family (the four of us) and in both our extended families, both mine and DH's Mum and Dad and our siblings. Like I know I've seen my MIL in her bra, but yeah I guess I wouldn't walk in on my FIL while he was on the toilet??? Sorry, totally rambling now... hmmm... I dunnoit's just not a big deal with us??? Sorry I probably haven't been any help.
I have also thought about this question before, i still shower with all of my kids its the only way when i am home alone to know that they are all safe. Especially when i am sick and i just want to sit in the shower. I dont think that they are ever too old i think that they will tell you when they feel uncomfortable. My opinion anyway, and everyone has different opinions. good luck
I shower all 3 of my DS's at night with me becasue DF has a shower at 630am!
No matter how many times I have told DS1 to get out of the bathroom while I use the toilet/shower he never listens and always saysmummy you have two bobbums
Yeah my kids have asked questions about different things but i just tell them that mummy is a girl and you are a boy like daddy, simple !! They need to learn somewhere and its better off coming from there parents rather then some kid at school saying who knows what LOL Not an issue for us here either
I dont think there is anything wrong with it. They will more than likely get to an age when they will feel uncomfortable (probably around puberty). But if not then I dont see a problem. We shouldnt feel that in our own home we should have to hide and cover our bodies if we dont want to. I think our children should learn to feel comfortable in their skin and not to hide it.
Of course you wouldnt walk around naked when there are people other than your immediate family (unless you all feel comfortable with it) and you probably wouldnt want to see your teenage daughter going out with everything hanging out. But in the privacy of your own home I dont see a problem.
This is just my opinion anyway.
When I was young I started to cover up when my mum looked at my bits and pointed out that I was getting dark hairs there (very embarrassing for a young girl). I definitely wont be doing that to my daughter as I clearly remember how I felt (even though it was a very long time ago). I dont even remember how old I was, maybe 10 or 11?
thanks girls
i dont have a problem i've seen mum starkers all our life
jases family are just weird i think![]()
I have to say I'm with the others. If anything I think it probably teaches quite a dangerous message to start hiding yourself.
I figure as long as you teach them discretion and the difference between what is acceptable at home I think it's healthy to show that you're comfortable in your skin
