Newborn pimples

I did wonder if it was more common in girls. DS had them for about a week, but nowhere near as bad as DD2. DD1 didn't get them. All 3 were breastfed.

I have also wondered if having hormonal acne as a baby is an indicator that they will be more prone to acne at puberty?

I looked into that and apparently there seems to be no link between the baby acne and the chance of getting acre (or it's severity) when they reach puberty

DS had them from about 2 to 9 weeks - DD never had. What I read suggested they are actually more common in boys, is no indication of whether they will get acne later in life - and although has at some point in time been linked to bf hormones in the milk, this has been disproved and FF babies just as likely to suffer. There are two types Milia (milk spots) which are whitish on top and baby acne which are the red pimples - the milia tends to disappear quicker, some bubs get both (DS had both bad for a couple of weeks then the Milia went and just had the red pimples) - baby acne can be around for up to 6 months but I read that most bubs lose by 12 weeks.

Even though you said ff abd bf babys have similar chance (thats how I read it anyway) I still find it interesting.
I put off baby photos due to dd's pimples never thought of air brushing.
