I was one of those mum's who absolutely LOVED night time feed's. It was just me andmy baby, spending a little quality time together without anyone learing at us, poking at us or telling us what or how we should be doing things.
I look at my 'little' man now and smile at how we had our us time. I miss it really badly...silly isnt it seeing so many other people groan about night time feeds ect.
And just for the record.....I didnt groan about getting up for them at all
I read that poem out at Jack's naming day/birthday party. Well, I only got through the first verse, lol, and then the celebrant had to finish reading the rest, I was a blubbering mess.
I have always enjoyed the night feeds, now that Jack is only having one or two a week now I am enjoying it even more.
I haven't been lucky enough to experience middle of the night feeds yet.
DD was sleeping through when she came home from hospital which was nice and sad at the same time.
Not long now and I will be able to experience the joys of this night time feed you are speaking of .
Whilst im up 3 times a night minimum ATM.....and how i would kill for 4 hrs straight sleep...i do get where your coming from Maz....i love in the pitch of darkness....and the night light shines just enough for me to see him smile up at me whilst i wrap him back up.....very precious.
while i also grizzle at getting up, to see DD fall asleep on the boob, detatch then nessle into my boob and sigh... tis the most beautiful thing in the world, especially since DD1 never fell asleep feeding, i also love the early morning feeds/sleeps in bed, again something DD1 never did..sigh...cluck cluck cluck
I do love them too, but I think when they're over, I will love a full night's sleep just as much!
I love to stroke his (not so little) head and feel his feathery hair through my fingers. I remember when his head barely fit in my hand....now my hand barely fits his head, lol! I wish he'd slow down on the growing up bit that's for sure!
any of u ladies are more than welcome to come and take over one of my 3-4 nightly feeds for DD2, or one of the 2 wake up for cuddles that DD1 seems to need these days!
i dont mind getting up for DD2 coz she needs to eat but with DD1 also waking up, im finding myself less than happy about being woken up at the moment!!
Awww....this is such a nice thread! I do grizzle and groan some nights, most I say nothing, and then there are those where I could just freeze the moment forever. It took me a while to love being awake through the night though. I was always scared of the dark as a child...now I can't imagine not having those precious moments with my baby girl, with the house still and quiet.
Babies are incredible aren't they? DD has totally rewired my brain I think, and the joy is amost unbearable at times.
Thanks for the smooshy poem too...I love a good tear jerker!
