My DD day care has nitts, adn I was wondering if there is a treatment or shampoo etc I oculd use to prevent getting them rather than waiting till she gets them?
You can wash her hair in tea tree shampoo and mix lavander oil with water and spray it on her hair before she goes out. Apparantly both these scents repel nits.
agree on the dirty hair, I have a friend who worked in a Day Care & only washed her hair on the wkends LOL. They loooove clean hair, I also heard hair spray or gel is good also.
I use a spray that i get from the supermarket- its made by wylde child- defense spray
nits have been around my twins class heaps of time and i apply the spray everyday and they are the only ones in their class that havent had nits!
definately worth a try!
A bit of tea tree oil in a water spray bottle (lice hate it apparently), hair up tightly (lice are less likely to get into hair) and hair spray on it (lice eggs can't stick to it).
I can too recommend the tea tree oil in a spray bottle dilated with water, sprayed on the hair before going to day care.
I worked in LDC for 12 years and not once got lice and I used tea tree oil, when we had lice in the centre.
Dirty hair they don't like and I personally believe they must be a bit like mozzies and go after certain blood types, coz some children are just prone to them poor little things, whilst other children can be exposed to them just as much and never get them!!
