DS3 has long blonde hair. It's beautiful, but the amount of comments we get about him looking like a girl seriously does my head in. He also likes pink and purple, and has dolls, he likes the soft baby dolls he can cuddle, along with cars and balls and bubbles, and buckets and spades. If he chooses to wear pink, he will wear pink, I don't care. I do worry about the children of small minded parents when he starts school and what they may say to him
I was also really sad to hear when my sister took my nephew(3) to buy new shoes and he got excited about the purple sparkly pair of sandals he fell in love with in the shop. She wouldn't buy them for him because she knew if he wore them out in their street when he played with the other kids(all a little older) they would tease him
ETA just looked at the baby in my ticker. I guess even I am guilty of gender/colour assignment as much as I hate it
