Riddle me this...

Why is it that when my ds has a sleep over at my parents place, my Mum can have him asleep within 10 minutes by simply placing him in his bed, saying goodnight and leaving the room

And when *i* do it I either have to sit in his room til he falls asleep, or spend an hour putting him back to bed because he keeps getting back up playing funny buggers.

I don't get it!

Same reason Milly only wakes once if at all at my mums yet for me she wakes 3-4 times. I put it down to the fact she loves me so much she can't go a whole night without seeing me

because they are smart little tackers.. smarter than we give them credit for I think.

Whenever mine stay at my mums they sleep in til like 7.30am 8am, when at home it is always 6.30 wake up time.

Oh snap! My mum can put DD in her OWN bed and she goes to sleep... I have to sit on the couch till she nods off :/

Same reason that everywhere else DD2 can sleep without a dummy but when it comes to home she HAS to have 2 otherwise will not sleep.

Dunno but it sucks doesn't it? I used to do permanent nights. DH had never put DD to bed before that. She'd go to sleep no worries and not wake for him

Its the same as Dh and I though. He does her night routine and I do her day. I can have her asleep within 10 mins usually but when DH is home it takes him up to 40min and is NEVER under an hour at night.

We quit getting hubby to put him to bed at night when I'm around. He just flies into hysterics and I can't listen to it long enough for him to to stop and settle down. And i don't know why he does it, DH has a gazzilion more patience than what I have when it comes to the bed time argument! Will be interesting to see how they go when I'm having this baby. Maybe I'm the problem XD

exactly the same here! DP's mum can put him into bed, leave the room & doesn't hear from him again until the morning - or he might wake once, get into her bed & then sleeps till 8. sigh. here it's silly games at bedtime & up at 6ish. cept for this morning when it was 5.15 cheeky monkey! i always just tell myself it's that he loves me so much he can't bear not to be spending time with me. i may be delusional though

I don't think that I spoil DS but he certainly throws more tantrums when I am around. I don't give in to him but he is more persistant than with other people. I think we are high value and that is why they always want to be awake around us Plus they are always better behaved for other people.

I think they're more likely to push boundaries with those they trust most.

DD climbed into bed and went to sleep at daycare last week while her carer was preparing a younger child for his nap. At home I have to lie down with her and wait until she's deeply enough asleep to sneak out.

and to add more salt to the wound... he didn't wake at all during the night and wasn't up til 7.15!! 6 is a sleep in, in my house! Gaaawwwsshhhh!!!
