Question Safety gate for diagonal doorway

I have a 10 1/2 month old who is just starting to walk - yay! Anyway, we need to keep her out of the kitchen as she has just figured out how to open cupboards. So my problem is that the entry to our kitchen is not straight, it's diagonal. We need a gate to fit that, but I haven't found one. Any suggestions other than getting one custom made?

A friend of mine has one that has a bit on either side of the gate so it can be angled if need be. Hers is on a dramatic angle. I think she got it from David Jones... not sure of the brand - sorry. But you can get them! And it is screwed into the wall I think. The other option is to get safety locks for your cupboards and drawers, there are various kinds available in department stores, supermarkets, and hardware stores. Good luck!

what about the cupboard child locks? they are a hook thing that you pull the door open slightly put your hand in and push down then the door opens
we got ours from kmart and they fold down once you dont need them

we had friends who did the diagonal gate thing, it was custom made with the gate in the middle - the three pieces could be taken apart - it was more to keep the dogs and the baby apart

Thanks everyone - we found one in Big W. It's called the "Hide-A-Way" gate and the brand is The First Years. The actual gate is soft flexible plastic. It rolls out like a holland (?) blind and hooks into the other side. There is a locking mechanism that stops the gate from being pulled out any further, ie. little hands/bodies can't push it down by leaning against it. The only problem is that Charlotte is freaked out by the sound of the gate being pulled out!! Oh well, she'll get used to it, I'm sure!
