    She bit me!

For some reason, who knows what reason, Miss B walked right up to me this morning and bit me on the arm! and it hurt!!!!
Is this the start of things to come? she did get into trouble for it, but is there anything i can do to stop this now?

DS has started doing this too. I think it has to do with teeth. I have a nice big bruise to show for it, ouch. Dunno what to do about it though

Ouchy!!! i don't have a bruise - well not yet anyway! i'm really hoping its just a once off would be upset if she bit any of her little play friends! If its teeth do u know why our bub may just be starting to do it now and not when the teething actually started? she hasn't really chewed on anything before - she dosen't have teeth marks on her cot - maybe this will start soon to than???

DD used to bite me when teething, and I just told her that it hurt and not to do it. Then I started to let out a squeal when she did it, and said say sorry to mummy. She then didn't bite for ages, like 10 months..

Oh no....seems strange that she just walked on up for no reason and bit you on the arm. You can't really do any more then what you did, hopefully she won't ever do it again but if she does make sure to again let her know that she can't just walk up and bite Mummy or anyone for that matter.

Hey DS has just started that this week, has doen it 3 times so far, but I have found the perfect way to deal with it:
First time I raised my voice but he laughed at that. The second time it really hurt and I actually cried. As soon as DS saw my cry he bawled his eyes out and came to give me a big hug sorry. The third time I dropped my lip and he saw I was hurt and was really sorry and again gave big hugs- that was 4 days ago, no more since then!

Hehe.. DS was a biter - DD1 not so much - she just play bites - but we still stop her.

DS was shocking, so many times he would just come up for no reason and bite us!!!

If you don't want them to do it, a way to try to stop them is to say NO, put them in an area of the room with NO toys around them and walk away. Worked for us anyway

Thanks everyone - so far no more bites so maybe it was just a once off to get my attention or something! hopefully no more - if so i will defintaly try the raised voice 1st and if that dosen't work im good at bringing on the waterworks dosen't work on my DH so hopefully it will work on my DD!!!

Just a quick update... it seems that the OOWWW and crying solution has proved more useful than I intended it to be.
DS hasn't bitten again, but last night we were having a BBQ and he went to put his hand on the hot plate. DF tryed to stop him a few times and he kept going back. The next ime he reached out his hand I said "owwww bubba" and he immediately pulled his hand back turned and ran away from the BBQ with a little cry!
So I'm feeling very impressed with myslef, at 14 months I can now help him learn about things that will hurt him rather than things I just don't want him to do...
