She only uses her middle finger, not her index finger?

It's weird, and I have NO idea if this is normal?

When Jazz plays with her laft hand, she'll only point with her middle finger. Her index finger is always tucked around her thumb, and she picks things up with her middle and ring finger...

BUT she can use her index finger and thumb, like when she is drinking she holds her cup with both hands and thumbs, and all fingers... but when she is pressing buttons she only uses her middle finger, and when she picks up food she only uses her middle and ring fingers.

Her right hand is fine though? And there doesn't seem to be any pain?

Is this something I should see the GP or CHN about?

I also wondered if it had something to do with her head/neck issues? She had plagiocephaly and torticollis, her neck seems fine now, no limitations on movement, and she only has a very small flat spot, unnoticable unless you're looking for it. The physio said it was because they tried to use vaccum extraction during her birth and she was stuck, and it pulled everything out of line or something. Could she still be experiencing problems because of her birth?

My DS is almost 2 and still mainly uses his middle finger, especially to point. If your at all worried though then I would ask your GP.

My 6 year old niece does the same thing, especially pointing with her middle finger.

I think it's pretty normal, I was sitting here thinking about all the littlies at work, alot of them do exactly as you describe.
