I'm in the same boat as you, newborn (3 weeks now) and DD1 who is 2.5.

She has thrown a few little wobblies recently, as I would have expected, and she came down with a cold last week to make matters worse, just like your DD. Then of course she passed it on to me, DH and DD2 Argh, the challenges!

What has worked for us is to make a special time together so that I can give DD1 one on one attention. I started giving her a massage before bed, and made a big deal of it being just her and me time. I got a special blanket and some lovely Gaia relaxing massage cream and went to town on her - telling her all about her beautiful arms, legs, back, bottom, chest, face as I went. She lapped it up and it even helped me relax a bit! At the end we put the blanket and cream away in a special spot together and discussed doing it again tomorrow.

Maybe something like that would be good? A designated time together?

    Hope things improve soon
