We go to Shoes and Sox. DD has in the past had a good pair of shoes for winter and then another pair for summer. They are usually pretty trashed by the end of the season. Sometimes we'll grab some KMart ones to tide us over if her feet have grown too much yet and they don't have the new season shoes in yet. I definitely prefer getting them professionally fitted than trying to do it myself. This winter we've gone for a day care pair (sneaker type) and her pretty weekend pair - got them for $50 each which I was pretty happy with. DD has narrow feet which is another reason I like getting it done properly as there were some she tried on which I thought were OK, but the professional fitter had concerns about.
