I've just let it go, as all the re-settling was only yielding a very occasional longer sleep, did not teach him to sleep longer independently and was ultimately just stressing us all out. I'm still exhausted and would still love more down-time, but happier for just letting it be for now, with the hope that longer naps may one day eventuate. Good luck!
My DS has also been the King of cat napping 45 minutes at a time. I just got used to it in the end, but the end of the day was hard as he was tired. Now days he sometimes does 1.5 hours. Resettling during the day never worked for us.
Thanks guys, sometimes she will go longer, mostly 45mins to an hour. It is like as soon at 6am comes she can't sleep longer than that till after 6pm at night. I thought it was strange.
I do in cot settling wrapping , and leaving to sleep as my DD wont sleep if I stay and shh or pat she tries to look at me and thinks its fun, and gets more tired. Sometimes if she is really cranky and is not calm I use a dummy and she goes off to sleep, but she wont fall to sleep in my arms anymore, no rocking or anythjing will get her to sleep.
She did have reflux which we are trying to get under control with formula, our last pead was useless so we are trying a new pead to get her reassessed. All we know is BM makes her scream and scream, and the formula dosent, however she still chucks and is unsettled. Losec didnt seem to work. She makes lots of uncomfortable noises after eating still, and dosent like to eat as much during the day as at night.
I have 2 phone books under one end of the cot, it isnt a large elevation but it is something.
