    Siblings

Just wanted to start by saying siblings is one of them words that looks wrong and the more you say it the less it seems like a real word anyhoooo....

There is 8 years between DS and DD1 so their interaction has been different but watching the DDs interact is just making my heart flutter atm. They are sisters

They fight and scream at each other
They pull hair and steal toys
    They push and bite.....but then....

DD1 comes running when DD2 cries
DD1 gives DD2 toys when she is grumpy
They are watching fairies together as I type
DD2 shares her chewed up and slobbered on food with DD1
DD1 gave the gp the death stare when DD2 had her last needles

Silly post I guess but just seeing them growing together blows me away after having DS as an only child for so long

I just love my kids to bits...that is all

What a lovely thread. My DD's are 6yrs apart but yet they are best friends, don't get me wrong they have their moments but like you say watching them play together, sharing their favourite toys is just the best.

    Regards,
    Dianne

It's great isn't it.... my DD's are 3y7m apart & although #2 is only 8mo now, they're starting to interact a lot more, and you can see the love. I can't wait to watch them grow up together!

That bought tears to my eyes. I wish more than anythng in the world to give dd a sibling for the reasons above. My heart will just melt seeing them interact :-)

Thanks for posting this thread! Just what I need to hear to calm the nerves while I wait for number two to arrive. You worry so much about the impact on number one it's easy to forget the upside.

    Here we go...

DS is starting to want to be around DD all the time. He crawls over to her, he pulls at her, his eyes follow her wherever she goes and his little face just lights up when he sees her.

She comes into his room with me in the morning and says "Hi little man, good morning little man!" and he chortles and goos at her.

Whenever someone comes to our house, she runs to the door and they say to her "Hi I", and she points to herself and says "I'm Abel" then runs to find DS and says "That's Anda!" and makes sure they say hi to him as well.

In the car, he travels much better than DD did on her own because he has her next to him. She laughs, he laughs. She babbles, he babbles back at her.

And cutest of all, when he gets upset in the car, she tells him "Don't cry Anda, it's ok Anda" and then holds his hand. And then tells me she's holding his hand. Aww.
