the 'flu' that killed those kiddies in Perth and the latest one in Brisbane was a combination of the influenza A virus and a streptococcal infection. This lead to a development of a severe pneumonia that developed rapidly and was not responsive to traditional antibiotics. The medical fraternity are still not sure why this combination has proved so deadly this year.

The symptoms you need to worry about are sudden high temps, listless with flu like symtoms.

If your gorgeous girl is still happy, eating and drinking you have nothing to worry about. Keep a close eye on her and if she deteriorates trust your mummy instincts and get medical attention. Little ones do go thru a period around 12 months of seeming to catche everything going around...this is how they build up their immune system.
