Hi,
We are looking for a single mattress for DD and we are unsure whether to get a cheaper one or spend a bit more for a quality one.
On one hand it will be used for many years, on the other it will be weed, pooed and vomited on?? We have invested in a waterproof protector. What did you do? Is there much difference?
We bought an ensemble for DD#1...although she was a little older than your child going into a big bed - she was 28mths. I figure she will have this bed till she reaches her teens.....
I have a matress protector too...and never had any accidents....
For Dd#2 we bought a cheapie ikea todd. bed. She has weed on it.....but in a few months we will be buying her an ensemble...looking back now, i kinda wished we had done that in the first place....
I'd be getting the best quality I could afford, just because we spend a significant amount of time in bed, and I think that if comfort makes a difference to me & my quality of sleep, then I would expect that it's relevant for kids too.
They're expensive little critters, these children of ours
We bought a mid-priced one from a good brand... apparently nearly all innerspring mattresses made in Australia are good. I put the new mattress on my 5yo's bed (he is fully continent) and put the older mattress on my toddlers bed.
