    Question Sleep issues

Ds2 is nearly 6mths old and his sleep is driving me crazy. Last night he went to sleep at 7.20 while feeding. he slept till 11.30 and woke for a feed. Fed him and he was in bed again by about 12. He then woke again at 2.30. Tried giving him his dummy and rocking/patting him to try and get him to sleep. This lasted till about 3.20 when i gave in and fed him again. he sucked for about 5minutes and was asleep. he then woke again at 5. Dh was able to get him back to sleep with dummy. He woke at 6am and bevause i was so tired i fed him and he slept till 7.40. This is driving me nuts. Im so tired that its really affecting my moods. I dont know what to do. Dh wanted to leave him cry a little cause he sees how bad im feeling. I just dont knownwhat to do! HELP

Is there a reason you don't want to feed him back to sleep when he wakes? Unfortunately, I think it is pretty normal for a 6month old to still feed a few times overnight.

I thought the feed/sleep pattern seemed pretty normal too I am sorry you are feeling so tired it can be very very draining.

Are you able to express and get your DH to do one of the night feeds to give you a break? Remember too there could be other things going on teething, development leap etc so it may just be for comfort as well. Every baby is different too.

you're doing a great job hun

Feeding over night I don't mind I just wish it wasn't every 2.5 hrs. He doesnt even feed that regularly during the day. And the other thing is he's not having a big feed. It's just like he wants to suckle for comfort. Again, I don't have a problem with that either, it's just not helpful when it's happening every couple of hours.

My ds did a similar thing (2hrs was a good snooze for me) at about that age after only waking 2 times a night until then. He eventually grew out of it.

Could you try feeding more frequently during the day if he is going longer stretches then? Try and reverse it a little? I don't really know the secret though, my DD was waking 2-3hrly right up till her 2nd birthday haha.

hope you can catch up on sleep soon.

Thanks ladies. He is teething which is making it difficult for him as well. I guess I'm just used to my DS1 who has been a fantastic sleeper, as in sleeping through since he was about 9mths old and sleeping 12 hrs stretches. *sigh* This too shall pass

He's pretty normal And with the teething he just needs that extra comforting. It'll pass. do you room in or is he away from you because sleeping together will often maxiase the amount of sleepyou get between wakeups.

He sleeps in our room still. Most nights he ends up in bed with us, problem with that is that I don't sleep as well and I get a bad back cause I end up sleeping on my side with not enough room to roll on to my back. He's a little bed hog So I try to feed him and put him back in his bassinette
